License terms

How MuSourc licenses work.

MuSourc provides music licenses that allow creators to use selected tracks in their content. These terms explain what you can do with a licensed track, what is not permitted, and what happens to your rights if your subscription ends.

By purchasing or downloading a track through MuSourc, you agree to these License Terms. The license applies to the specific track associated with your purchase or download record.

1. What your license grants

Subject to these terms, a valid MuSourc license grants you a worldwide, non-exclusive right to use the licensed track as part of permitted content.

A Standard License is perpetual, subject to these terms. Creator+ usage rights are subject to the subscription conditions in Section 3.

Permitted uses include:

  • Creator platforms: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, Kick, podcasts, and similar creator platforms.
  • Monetized content: Content that earns revenue through platform monetization, sponsorships, branded content, or paid promotion.
  • Commercial creator content: Videos, social media posts, podcasts, and other content created or published by you, including content made for a client, subject to Section 7.
  • Independent creative projects: Independent short films, student films, independently developed games, personal projects, and similar small-scale creative projects, provided they are created or published by you and are not otherwise excluded by these terms.
  • Editing for content: Trimming, looping, fading, adjusting volume, and making other edits needed to fit the track into your content.

This license covers use of the track as part of permitted content. It does not give you ownership of the track or permission to distribute it as a standalone audio recording.

2. Standard License — $5.99 per track

The Standard License is a one-time purchase for one track.

Once payment is successfully completed, the license is associated with your MuSourc account and grants you a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive right to use that track in permitted content, in accordance with these terms.

The Standard License is for the account holder’s use and is not transferable to another person or account. You may use the licensed track in content you create for a client, but the license does not give the client independent rights to use, distribute, or reuse the raw track.

Buy once, use forever in accordance with these License Terms.

3. Creator+ Subscription — $13.99 per month

Creator+ is a recurring subscription that allows you to download eligible tracks included in the Creator+ catalog while your subscription is active and in good standing.

Each track you download during an active Creator+ subscription is licensed for use in permitted content, subject to these terms and the conditions below.

If your subscription ends:

  • You may continue using tracks downloaded through Creator+ in content that you created and published while your subscription was active.
  • You may not use those tracks in new content created or first published after your subscription ends, unless you purchase a separate Standard License for the track or obtain another license from MuSourc.
  • You may not continue downloading Creator+ tracks or using Creator+ benefits after your subscription access ends.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewal, but Creator+ access may continue until the end of the paid subscription period, as shown in your account or billing portal.

A Creator+ subscription does not transfer ownership of any track and does not authorize uses excluded by these terms.

4. Free tracks

Tracks marked Free can be downloaded at no charge by signed-in account holders. A Free track is licensed to the account that downloaded it under the same permitted uses and restrictions as a Standard License, and the download is recorded in the account’s library. A track may later change from Free to paid; this does not affect licenses already issued for downloads made while it was free.

5. What your license does not cover

Unless MuSourc provides separate written permission or a custom license, your license does not allow you to:

  • Sell, share, give away, redistribute, or sublicense the raw track file.
  • Upload the track as a standalone audio release or make it available for others to download, stream, or reuse outside your own permitted content.
  • Include the track in stock music libraries, production music libraries, sample packs, or similar collections.
  • Claim ownership of the track, composition, recording, or any other underlying rights.
  • Create or distribute a standalone remix, new song, or other independent musical release using the track.
  • Use the track in major commercial film, television, streaming, app, or video game productions without a separate custom license.
  • Use the track for theatrical distribution or broadcast television without a separate custom license.
  • Use the track as background music for large-scale commercial in-store or venue playback without a separate custom license.
  • Use the track for AI training, dataset ingestion, machine-learning model training, or other generative AI development.
  • Include the raw audio in NFTs, blockchain assets, or tokenized content.
  • Use the track in unlawful, defamatory, or otherwise prohibited content.

Independent short films, student films, independently developed games, personal projects, and similar small-scale creative projects are permitted, provided the use otherwise complies with these License Terms.

If an independently created project is later acquired, distributed, or incorporated into a major commercial production, theatrical release, broadcast, or other use requiring specialized rights, a separate custom license may be required.

Need rights for major commercial productions, theatrical distribution, broadcast television, large-scale commercial releases, agency use, or in-store playback? Contact musourc.licensing@gmail.com to discuss a custom license.

6. Editing and derivative use

You may edit a licensed track as needed to use it in permitted content. This includes trimming, looping, fading, adjusting volume, changing timing, and making similar edits to fit the track into a video, podcast, or other permitted project.

These permissions do not allow you to create or release a standalone remix, new song, sample pack, or independent audio product using the track.

You may not distribute an edited version in a way that allows others to extract, download, or reuse the track separately from your permitted content.

7. Client and third-party content

You may use a licensed track in content you create for a client, brand, business, or other third party, provided the use is otherwise permitted under these terms.

The license remains associated with your MuSourc account. It does not transfer ownership or independent usage rights to the client or other third party.

Your client may publish and use the completed content you created for them, including on their own channels, as part of the project for which the content was produced.

However, the client may not extract, redistribute, resell, sublicense, or independently reuse the raw track or use it in separate new content without obtaining their own license or written permission from MuSourc.

If a client or third party wants to use the track independently or beyond the content you created for them, they must obtain an appropriate license from MuSourc.

8. Content ID and copyright claims

MuSourc tracks are original productions and are not registered in YouTube Content ID.

Some platforms use automated systems that may identify licensed music and issue a copyright claim, mute content, restrict monetization, or otherwise affect a post.

If you receive a claim involving a MuSourc track, email musourc.licensing@gmail.com with:

  • Your MuSourc account email or download reference
  • The track title
  • The URL of the affected content
  • Any claim details or notices provided by the platform

MuSourc will review the information and provide reasonable assistance to verify your license and, where appropriate, help submit a dispute or request a claim release.

Platform decisions and processing times are controlled by the relevant platform and rights holders. MuSourc cannot guarantee that every claim will be removed or resolved within a specific timeframe.

A license does not exempt you from following the platform’s own rules and dispute procedures.

We aim to reply to claim support requests within 2 business days.

9. Ownership and copyright

The original rights holders retain ownership of the underlying musical compositions and sound recordings. MuSourc does not transfer copyright or master ownership to you.

Your license grants only the usage rights expressly described in these terms. All rights not specifically granted to you remain with the applicable rights holders.

10. License records and account responsibility

Your MuSourc account records identify the tracks you have purchased or downloaded and the license associated with each track. Keep your account secure and retain your purchase or download records in case you need to verify your license.

Your license is associated with your account holder and may not be sold, transferred, or assigned to another person.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of a licensed track complies with these terms.

11. Payments, refunds, and reversed transactions

A license is issued after the applicable payment is successfully completed or a qualifying Creator+ or Free download is recorded while the subscription is active and in good standing.

If a payment is refunded, reversed, disputed, or charged back, the associated license may be suspended or revoked to the extent permitted by applicable law and the final refund or payment-dispute outcome. MuSourc may contact you to clarify the transaction or resolve a payment issue.

Refund eligibility, subscription cancellation rights, and related procedures are subject to MuSourc’s separate Refund and Cancellation Policy and applicable consumer-protection laws.

12. Track availability and service changes

MuSourc may update, replace, or remove tracks from its catalog.

Removal of a track from the catalog does not, by itself, cancel a valid, previously issued perpetual Standard License, subject to these terms and any applicable legal requirements.

MuSourc may update its website, services, or license offerings over time. Any material change to these License Terms will be communicated as required by applicable law.

The terms applicable to a particular purchase or download will be identified in the license record or otherwise made available to the account holder.
